Think your chocolate chip cookies have what it takes? Bring your best batch to be tasted and judged by chocolate and baking industry professionals alongside members of the Portland community.
Whether you're a young baker, a passionate home baker, or a seasoned professional, there's a division where your cookies can shine. Each participant receives a single-day ticket to the festival for Saturday, October 3.

Home Bakers
For kitchen enthusiasts ages 13 and up. Share the recipe your family asks for again and again.

For bakers, pastry chefs, and culinary pros ready to show off their craft.
How to enter
Three steps to bake off.
- Register online by September 15 and choose your division.
- Bake one dozen (12) of your best chocolate chip cookies.
- Deliver your cookies to Ranger Chocolate Co. (107 SE Washington St) on Friday, October 2, 8 AM – 3 PM.

Bragging rights, literally.
Gold
The winner in each division receives a trophy, a curated gift box featuring treats from local makers and festival vendors, and well-earned bragging rights.
Silver & Bronze
Second- and third-place finishers receive trophies and a selection of surprise treats.

Do my cookies need to be strictly chocolate chip?
Feel free to innovate! The only requirements are that your cookie includes chocolate chips of some kind and stays true to the chocolate chip cookie we all know and love. Get creative, not crazy.
Can I submit more than one recipe?
No, each participant may enter one recipe.
Can my cookies contain nuts or other allergens?
Yes, just be sure to label them clearly.
What kind of container do my cookies need to be in?
A disposable container labeled with your first and last name and any allergens. Containers will not be returned.
When should I bring my cookies to Ranger Chocolate Co.?
Friday, October 2, between 8 AM and 3 PM. We're unable to accommodate early or late drop-offs.
If my child enters the competition, do I also get a free ticket?
Each entry receives one free ticket for the participant. If you'd like to accompany your child, you'll need to purchase a ticket for the October 3, 3 PM time slot — children ages 8 and younger are free.
