Volunteer
The Portland Craft Chocolate Festival runs on the energy of its volunteers. Spend a few hours with us at the Olympic Mills Building October 2–4, 2026, and you’ll be at the heart of Portland’s craft chocolate community — welcoming guests, supporting makers, and helping bring the bean–to–bar weekend to life.
Why Volunteer
No experience needed — just a love of chocolate and a friendly attitude. Whether you’re a longtime festival fan, a culinary student, or simply curious about how craft chocolate is made, there’s a place for you on the crew.
Volunteer Perks
Free festival admission for the day you work
Chocolate and treats to sample throughout your shift
A behind–the–scenes look at how the festival comes together
Meet bean–to–bar makers and fellow chocolate lovers
Volunteer Roles
Tell us what you enjoy and we’ll match you to a role. Here’s where our volunteers make the biggest difference:
Where You’ll Help
Setup & Load–In — help makers move in, set tables, and dress the room before doors open
Guest Check–In & Ticketing — greet guests, scan tickets, and hand out tasting tokens
Token & Merch Sales — run the token table and help guests vote in the Fan Favorite Tasting
Floor Floaters — answer questions, restock samples, and keep the market running smoothly
Teardown — help makers pack up and reset the space at the close of the festival
Shifts & Schedule
Morning crews arrive before doors open and afternoon crews stay a little past close to help wrap up — with a midday overlap so nothing skips a beat. Most shifts run around four to five hours. Pick the day and slot that works for you:
